Project Manager I or II - Transmission

Job Summary This position may be filled as a Project Manager I or one level higher as a Project Manager II, depending on the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the selected candidate. The role supports the Transmission Project Development team, with single point accountability and reports to the Director. The Project Manager is responsible for managing all phases of project planning and execution to ensure project success factors—including scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration—are met. They lead and coordinate the project through the initiate gate and hand it off to project execution, guiding the team in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities Create, staff, and lead the project team, providing leadership, oversight, direction, delegation, and coordination with internal and external organizations. Establish and maintain communications among project/program stakeholders, structure, lead, or assist in project‑related meetings, and prepare and report project status regularly. Plan assigned projects, including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality, championing the project planning process. Execute projects according to approved plans within scope, cost, and schedule constraints, overseeing deliverables, WBS, risk, quality, safety, environmental, security, integration, data management, communications, change management, and project close‑out. Required/Basic Qualifications – Project Manager I Associate's Degree and two (2) years of minimum related experience. High School/GED and five (5) years of minimum related experience (if no degree). Required/Basic Qualifications – Project Manager II Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related work experience. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 5+ years of related experience; or High School/GED and 9+ years of related experience. Desired Qualifications Master's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration. 10+ years of related work experience. Project Management Professional, Professional Engineer, Certified Associate of Project Management, Utility Technical Certifications/Training, or CMII Certification. Demonstrable proficiency in managing large electric utility transmission projects. Proficiency in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving. Experience in Risk Management and Project Leadership. Strong collaboration and oversight skills. Construction Management knowledge. Expertise in project scheduling, estimation, and governance. Ability to adhere to procedures and resolve challenges within departments and processes. Self‑directed problem solving and critical decision‑making.
