About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:30 AM - 7 PM, 3 days a week) Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience, cardiac/vascular, ortho experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient and family-centered care. The RN is responsible for customer satisfaction and quality outcomes. The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes his/her own development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN utilizes the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN emphasizes patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. The RN also mentors and precepts staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patients, and families. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, and provides education specific to patient and family needs. Demonstrates leadership by delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor, encouraging teamwork. Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards.
