Automation Technician

St. Paul, MN

$25-$38/hr + $1/hr night shift differential

Medical Device

2-2-3 Schedule | 6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM | 3/4 days off a week

What you'll be doing:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment and control systems
• Diagnose issues across PLCs, HMIs, robotics, machine vision, sensors, motion control, and electrical and pneumatic systems
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and minimize downtime
• Support the installation, startup, qualification, and validation of new and modified automation equipment
• Make approved programming, configuration, and parameter adjustments to automation systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and equipment documentation
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to improve equipment performance and reliability
• Support root-cause investigations, continuous improvement projects, and operator training

What they're looking for:

• 2+ years of experience supporting automation, controls, or industrial manufacturing equipment
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with PLC and HMI systems, with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred
• Experience programming, servicing, and troubleshooting Epson robots
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical equipment documentation
• Associate degree or technical diploma in Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred
• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred
