About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President and Deputy General Counsel to play a pivotal role in supporting the organization's legal and risk management strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the legal function, providing expert legal advice on a wide range of issues, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes overseeing the contract management process, from creation to execution and analysis, with a focus on maximizing operational performance and minimizing risk. The role also involves budgeting and managing legal costs, optimizing internal legal resources, and reducing external legal expenses. The VP DGC will be a key leader in the legal department, driving process improvements, and leading the integration of an automated contracting system. Applicants must have a Juris Doctorate degree, be actively licensed to practice law, and have a minimum of 10-15 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in an executive role. The role requires a candidate with a strong blend of management and legal experience, superior planning, decision-making, negotiation, and leadership skills. The VP DGC will be expected to have a reliable and up-to-date knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines and laws, and to demonstrate the highest personal integrity and ethics. Strong relationship-building, communication, and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. The position demands a dedicated leader who is committed to the mission of the organization and can effectively manage a team to ensure the legal function aligns with the company's core values and goals.
