Location & Shift Charlottesville, VA | First (Days) Overview Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist I or II for the Main OR in Charlottesville, VA. Full time, Day shift from 7AM to 5PM with required call. Call requirements: 6 to 7 shifts per 6-week schedule. Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates! Key Responsibilities The Surgical Technologist ensures that the operating room is properly prepared with the necessary instruments and equipment. Assists the surgical team throughout the procedure by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon. Maintains patient safety and ensures the surgical environment is organized, clean, and sterile. Assists in applying dressings, securing surgical drapes and transferring patients to recovery areas. Adheres to infection control protocols and sterile techniques to prevent contamination. Works closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth and effective procedures. Education Trade School Graduate – Surgical Technologist (Required) Students in the process of completing a Surgical Technologist Program may be considered. Certification & Licensure Licensed Surgical Technologist – Virginia (Required) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery TS‑C – NCCT (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (Required) Experience Operating room experience (preferred) Strong understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient safety protocols. Strong communication skills with providers and surgical staff required.
