We're looking for an experienced HVAC Selling Service Manager who can run replacement opportunities personally and build the service department around them.

Be clear-eyed about what this is. We are a small, focused shop - currently two field technicians, and we are growing. This is not a role where you manage from a desk. Roughly 80% of your week is in front of homeowners , running replacement calls, working the open-estimate pipeline, and supporting high-ticket diagnostics. The remainder is coaching, quality, and process.

If you want a large team to administer, this is not it. If you want to sell, own your numbers, and build the department you'll eventually lead, it is.

Sell (the majority of the role)

• Run HVAC replacement opportunities and high-value diagnostic calls

• Meet with homeowners to explain system conditions, repair options, replacement recommendations, and financing

• Own the open-estimate pipeline end to end - follow up, re-quote, and close or formally dismiss every opportunity. We currently have a substantial backlog of unworked estimates; this is the single biggest opportunity in the role.

• Attach maintenance memberships to replacement proposals as standard practice

Lead

• Ride along with technicians and coach on diagnostics, communication, presenting options, and identifying opportunities

• Provide technical support on difficult calls and escalations

• Review completed work for quality, accuracy, and documentation

• Hold the line on invoicing - eliminate zero-billed and improperly billed calls

• Monitor callbacks, workmanship concerns, and customer issues

• Help establish consistent service processes and performance expectations

• Retain and develop the technicians we have , and help us hire well as we grow

• Partner directly with ownership on revenue, gross profit, and department performance

• Strong residential HVAC service and diagnostic experience

• Proven ability to identify and sell repair and replacement opportunities

• Confidence presenting high-ticket solutions directly to homeowners

• Working proficiency in ServiceTitan

• estimates, invoicing, and pipeline management all run through it, and you'll be accountable for the data in it

• Previous experience as a Service Manager, Field Supervisor, Lead Technician, Selling Technician, or Comfort Advisor

• Ability to coach and lead technicians while staying active in the field

• Strong organizational and follow-up skills — a quote that is never resolved is a loss

• Understanding of service KPIs: gross profit, average ticket, close rate, callbacks

• EPA certification and a clean driving record

• Company vehicle provided. Rotating after-hours on-call, shared with the team.

Performance is measured on four things:

1. Replacement close rate

• including quotes resolved rather than left open

1. Reduction of zero-billed jobs

2. Gross profit

3. Technician retention

We review formally at six months against these measures, with defined growth in role, title, and compensation for consistent performance.

A strong Selling Technician or Comfort Advisor ready for a first leadership role, or an experienced Service Manager who wants to stay in the field and be paid on what they sell.
