Litigation Associate, Consumer Protection and Arbitration

Furdock & Foglia Law LLP is hiring a litigator with at least 3 years of real courtroom and case management experience to build out our consumer protection and arbitration practice. This is a full time, in office role in downtown St. Petersburg.

We are not looking for someone to warm a chair and review documents. We want a lawyer who wants their own docket, their own clients, and their own record.

What you will actually do

• Carry your own caseload from intake through resolution, with real ownership and real accountability
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, discovery motions, and motions relating to arbitration
• Handle arbitrations end to end
• Take and defend depositions
• Brief and argue arbitration questions that decide cases before the merits ever get reached: enforceability, unconscionability, scope, waiver, delegation clauses, and challenges under the Federal Arbitration Act
• Work directly with clients and with the partners, not through three layers of hierarchy

What we need

• Active Florida Bar membership in good standing
• At least 1+ years of litigation experience. Five or more and we will talk about a different title.
• Demonstrated consumer protection experience, or adjacent statutory litigation you can translate
• Genuine facility with arbitration practice, not just a passing familiarity with the clause
• Writing that a judge or arbitrator can follow on the first read
• Someone who is comfortable being on their feet in a hearing and comfortable telling a client something they do not want to hear
• Available in the office full time. This is a collaborative practice and the mentorship works in person.
• Practical experience using AI in a litigation workflow. You know where it genuinely saves hours on research, drafting, and document review, and you know exactly where it will get you sanctioned.

Strong plus

Class or mass action experience. Federal court practice in the Middle District of Florida. Appellate briefing. Experience with mass arbitration dynamics on either side. Prior work at a consumer focused firm.

Compensation

$75,500 to $165,000+, set by experience, book, and demonstrated litigation ability.
