POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Room Attendants to provide clean guest rooms, as well as helping to maintain a safe, clean and pleasant environment for guests, visitors and other employees.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY and DUTIES

• Ensure that housekeeping carts have adequate supplies of linens, cleaning products and guest amenities. Restock as necessary and bring needed supplies to room attendants.
• Pick up trash and other refuse collected by room attendants and transport it to the proper disposal locations.
• Pick up soiled linens and dirty glasses collected by room attendants and transport them to the laundry. Supply room attendants with fresh linens and glasses as needed.
• Coordinate with Rooms Controller and Inspectors on readying special rooms needed.
• Write maintenance tickets for any problems that cannot be handled by housekeeping.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to any requests from guests. If you are not able to assist them directly, find someone who can.
• Be thoroughly knowledgeable of where all hotel facilities and rooms are located, and all emergency procedures. Be prepared to assist the MOD in an emergency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the housekeeping supervisor or Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: General Education and/or comparable work experience

Required Knowledge: Good attention to detail; ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Work Environment: The duties for this position are carried out indoors. The employee will be exposed to contact with chemical mixtures when filling cleaning chemical containers and while cleaning rooms.

Physical Activities: To perform the essential functions of this position, the individual must be able to see, speak and hear. An individual must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time with constant bending, stooping and reaching required. An individual should also be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and may frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Manual dexterity is necessary for the manipulation of cleaning tools, linens, guest amenities, paperwork, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
