This CT Technologist opportunity is based in Richmond, Virginia, a vibrant state capital known for its historic charm, riverfront views, and thriving arts and food scene. Richmond offers a blend of historic districts and modern amenities, with scenic parks along the James River, a lively downtown, and easy access to both coastal beaches and the Blue Ridge Mountains for weekend getaways.In this role, you will join a busy, modern imaging department that supports inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room services. You will perform CT examinations for a broad range of cases, from routine studies to urgent and emergent imaging, helping providers quickly diagnose and manage patient conditions. The department uses GE CT equipment, giving you exposure to reliable, well-maintained technology in a streamlined imaging environment.You will work primarily evening shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on a 40-hour workweek. The service prefers a 5x8 schedule, but may also consider 4x10 shifts depending on department needs. You will coordinate closely with emergency department staff, hospitalists, and radiologists to prioritize and complete studies efficiently, maintaining excellent image quality and patient safety.Typical responsibilities include preparing patients and exam rooms, confirming orders and protocols, performing CT scans on inpatients, outpatients, and ED patients, and ensuring accurate documentation within the PACS and EMR systems. You will often work independently, especially during busy evening hours, so strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills are essential.This position is best suited for CT technologists who thrive in a fast-paced environment, appreciate a mix of exam types, and value working in a well-supported hospital setting.
