POSITION SUMMARY

The role of a Service Technician I directly supports the company's mission by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of wind turbine generators, which are integral to producing 100% renewable energy. The Service Technician I is responsible for performing turbine maintenance and operational tasks in accordance with high safety standards. This role collaborates closely with the operational and back‑office teams to ensure a high level of availability in the wind farm, supporting strong service performance for our customers and contributing to the company’s future growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Perform routine wind turbine maintenance and basic repairs following established procedures Assist with troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues under the guidance of experienced technicians Complete maintenance reports, track work activities, and manage service tickets Support inventory and material management, including receiving, organizing, and tracking parts and tools Prepare tools, materials, and documentation needed for scheduled work Follow all safety procedures, including PPE inspections, toolbox talks, vehicle inspections, and incident reporting Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and turbine performance Work closely with team members and support additional site operations as needed

WHAT YOU HAVE

High school diploma or GED required; technical, wind energy, or engineering education preferred 0-2 years of experience in wind energy, industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical, construction, or a related field Experience using hand tools and power tools Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working at heights of up to 300 feet and climbing wind turbine towers daily Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and confined spaces Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call schedule Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport and travel up to 10% for training or support at other sites Ability to obtain and maintain required safety and technical certifications, including working with medium- and high-voltage equipment Must meet OSHA/ANSI weight requirements (265 lbs. or less) and successfully complete a pre-employment physical Nordex places the highest priority on the safe operations of its business. Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.
