Position Summary Senior Scientist, Engineered Cell Therapy Discovery – a key member of the Engineered Cell Therapy Discovery team. The role focuses on driving next‑generation CAR‑T and eTCR therapies for patients with cancer and other chronic diseases. The scientist will design and execute complex studies of engineered T‑cell biology, translate results into science‑driven decisions, mentor junior colleagues, and act as a technical point of contact. Position Responsibilities Apply knowledge of T‑cell immunology to characterize engineered CAR/eTCR T cells and support science‑driven decision making. Design, coordinate, and execute screening and mechanistic studies to evaluate engineered T‑cell constructs, leveraging automation where available. Work independently on project deliverables, propose protocol modifications, and innovate experimental designs using literature and internal data. Interpret and synthesize complex datasets from flow cytometry, IncuCyte, MSD, and high‑content imaging to identify trends and guide follow‑up. Lead discussions and present findings in multidisciplinary meetings, communicating clear, key messages. Mentor junior team members and serve as a technical point of contact within the group. Participate in the development of patents, publications, and represent the team on program or sub‑team engagements. Maintain rigorous electronic notebooks to support milestones and regulatory filings. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of academic and/or industry experience. Master’s degree with 5+ years of academic and/or industry experience. Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences with 2+ years of academic and/or industry experience. Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of T‑cell immunology, immuno‑oncology, or a related discipline; familiarity with related areas such as bioengineering or molecular biology. Experience in the drug discovery/development process and proficiency in scientific/technical writing. Hands‑on experience with in‑vitro technologies for engineering and assessing T cells (viral transduction, gene editing, MSD/ELISA, IncuCyte, multi‑parameter flow cytometry, imaging). Experience with large/complex datasets (e.g., flow cytometry, NGS) and analysis tools like JMP, R, or a programming language. Strong independent problem‑solving, project‑management orientation, and ability to work across multiple concurrent workstreams. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills in a matrixed environment; ability to work productively as both team member and independent contributor. Critical and probabilistic thinking to identify and solve complex scientific problems. Compensation Overview Seattle – WA: $136,030 – $164,841 (annual salary for a full‑time employee).
