Job Summary Come work at The Sunshine Mill! Let's Talk Sunshine: The Sunshine Mill was first opened in 1913 as a flour mill for The Sunshine Biscuit Company, makers of the famous Cheez-It, but there had been an operational mill on the property dating back to the mid 1800's. This building was operational for more than 60 years before closing, and remained vacant for 40 years. In 2009, The Martin Family opened it up as their tasting room and winery for their boutique label Quenett, and their infamous wine by the glass product Copa Di Vino, made in our warehouse next door. We offer hand-crafted wines, great small plates and we host private events too! Join our vibrant team as a Tasting Room Associate, where your enthusiasm and hospitality skills will create memorable experiences for our guests. In this energetic role, you will serve as the welcoming face of our winery, guiding visitors through tastings, sharing our story, and ensuring every guest feels valued and engaged. Your passion for food, beverages, and exceptional service will shine as you craft a lively and inviting atmosphere that encourages exploration and enjoyment of our products. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your customer service expertise within a dynamic food and beverage environment. Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide engaging, informative tastings of our wines or beverages Share our unique story with guests letting them know we offer something for everyone here, from historical facts to food to non-alcoholic drinks to winem beer and sangria and everything in between! Educate visitors about our products, including tasting notes, food pairings, and the story behind each offering Serve beverages confidently while maintaining high standards of food safety and handling procedures Assist with food preparation tasks such as plating cheese boards or light snacks to complement tastings Manage guest inquiries professionally, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting area, adhering to health and safety regulations Support event setups for special occasions or private tastings, including catering or banquet-style events Help manage our wine club This job does require availability of one weekend day per week, with shifts being from 10am-6pm on typical days, with some days having events that last until 10pm at the latest. Qualifications Prior experience in fine dining, food service, or hospitality environments is highly preferred Strong customer service skills with the ability to connect with diverse guests in a lively setting Experience serving food and beverages confidently and responsibly Knowledge of food handling safety standards and food industry best practices Background in catering, banquet service, or dietary aide roles is a plus Barista experience or familiarity with coffee/tea service is advantageous Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude to ensure guest satisfaction The ability to make anyone feel welcome in our space and to tailor experiences to the needs of each individual customer We can teach about wine food and history, so if you don't have this level of experience but have a great personality, we'd love to meet you! Pay and Benefits This job pays $40,000 annually and includes cash and and credit card tips, monthly club bonuses and monthly sales bonuses. Average annual tips and bonuses for this position are $12,000-$16,000. We offer health, dental, vision and life insurance to all full time employees.
