Registered Nurse In Emergency Medicine

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Two (2) years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three years. License: Registered Nurse license (state specific or compact). Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS (AHA Only), TNCC Must-Have: Epic experience required. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to starting.

Evening shifts will involve 12 and 8-hour shifts between 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM. Weekend rotation and holidays may be required. The Emergency Department provides comprehensive emergency care to nearly 45,000 patients annually. It serves as a critical entry point to the health system, working to rapidly stabilize patients for admission or transfer. The department is designated as a Level IV Trauma Center and an Acute Stroke Ready Center. It has been recognized as a Pediatric Ready Emergency Department. These designations ensure timely, evidence-based care for patients across the lifespan. The department includes 20 exam rooms and 19 vertical care spaces, with the ability to flex additional exam rooms to meet surges in demand. The team coordinates closely with ground ambulance services and air transport to provide seamless care for critically ill and injured patients. In addition, the nursing and tech staff serve as the rapid response team, delivering emergent assessment and intervention throughout the facility. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum experience includes two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty. A telemetry exam will be required prior to starting. The Adult Exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no incorrect answers on questions regarding third-degree heart blocks. The Pediatric Exam includes identification of several critical arrhythmias. Passing score of 80% or higher is required for both adult and pediatric exams. If the traveler fails the second attempt of the telemetry test, they will need to complete a cardiac interpretation review course before a third attempt is assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts, the assignment will be canceled.
