Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS required Must-Have: Advanced skills in administering cardiac and insulin drips Description: Please note that the patient ratios mentioned are estimations based on the unit and are not guarantees. General information about the unit: Number of Beds: 30 Patient Ratios: Ideally 1:4, currently running 1:5 for Progressive Care Unit, and up to 6:1 for Cardiac/Telemetry patients. Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians. Type of equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, bladder scanners, and vein finders. The documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requirements are for 36 hours per week. There is a floating policy in place; all staff may float to areas of their competencies. Patient experience requirements mandate the provision of safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. Staff must possess ACLS certification. Dress code consists of royal blue scrubs; artificial /gel nails are prohibited. Unit guidelines include taking vital signs every 4 hours (more frequently based on patient condition) and conducting blood glucose checks as ordered. Required documentation and assessment must be completed every shift. Staff in the unit are cohesive and work well as a team, seeking candidates who collaborate effectively with others. Staff self-schedule and accommodate preferences, particularly for those who favor working three consecutive night shifts. The facility is known for its supportive culture and managerial backing.
