Assistant Grocery Manager

Responsibilities Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team Effectively coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork Lead a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Grocery Team Unload and sort through store deliveries Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and validate that other Grocery team members are aware of and following these procedures Work in a fast paced environment Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age and 1‑3 years retail management experience; familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred Be dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours is expected Have strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to give and receive direction in a team environment Have an outgoing and friendly manner with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers Possess proven leadership to build, motivate, and maintain staff, with knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals Have a strong focus on detail, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Have strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks Must be able to vertically transfer milk trays weighing up to 60 lbs. from 9” to 62” for up to 25 hours per day Must be able to vertically/horizontally transfer boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. from 5” to 34” up to 5 feet for up to 25 hours per day without mechanical assistance Must be able to perform repetitive squatting, kneeling, and bending for up to 30 hours per week Benefits Competitive pay Sick time plan that supports you or your immediate family’s health Vacation accrual plan Opportunities for career growth 15% discount for you and one other family member on all Sprouts purchases Flexible schedules Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(K) retirement savings plan with a generous company match Company‑paid life insurance Eligibility Benefits Bonus based on company and/or individual performance Affordable benefit coverage, including medical, dental, and vision Health Savings Account with company match Pre‑tax Flexible Spending Accounts for healthcare and dependent care Company‑paid short‑term disability coverage Paid parental leave for both mothers and fathers Paid holidays DailyPay Sprouts Farmers Market offers DailyPay—eligible employees can transfer earned money at no extra cost and receive it on the next business day for free.
