Per Diem RN - Float Med/Surg

Department Overview Our Minneapolis medical/surgical float team is an integral part of nursing services within our medical/surgical community and provides valuable resources to the hospital system. Team members apply specific skill sets to four departments and provide additional resources as needs are identified. This approach offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day. Our family-centered focus strives to consider social, economic and cultural diversity — living our core value of putting “Kids First.” Position Summary Coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members. THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION. Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Minnesota RN licensure. Current BLS certification. One (1) year experience (within the last 2 years) working with a specialized patient population (e.g., Neurosciences, inpatient psychiatry). Pediatric experience preferred. An informational meeting with the Patient Care Manager is required prior to awarding the position. Based upon the unit in which you are applying, additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment. Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification required or obtained during orientation. Compensation and Benefits The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs. In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
