QA & Food Safety Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead all Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs across two food manufacturing facilities.
• Develop, implement, and improve SOPs, HACCP plans, GMP programs, and food safety systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, food safety, and operational excellence.
• Establish standardized processes and ensure consistency across all shifts and departments.
• Lead internal audits and prepare the facilities for customer, regulatory, and third-party inspections.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, HACCP, GMP, Kosher, and customer requirements.
• Manage quality inspections for raw materials, packaging, in-process production, and finished goods.
• Investigate quality issues, implement corrective actions, and identify opportunities for long-term improvement.
• Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Purchasing, R&D, and leadership to improve product quality and food safety.
• Oversee sanitation programs, pest control, environmental monitoring, and regulatory documentation.
• Train, mentor, and develop employees while fostering a proactive culture of food safety and accountability.
• Build positive relationships throughout the organization and champion a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in food manufacturing quality or food safety.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and food manufacturing regulations.
• Experience developing or improving food safety systems, SOPs, and quality programs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
• Ability to influence teams and build strong cross-functional relationships.
• Experience preparing for and leading customer, regulatory, or third-party audits is highly preferred.
