Registered Nurse 1 (NY HELPS)

Responsibilities Participate in nursing activities, including the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure quality patient care. Act as health liaison. Coordinate and schedule medical follow‑up, including completion of consultations. Provide first aid and emergency nursing care. Monitor and order pharmaceutical supplies for each individual. Attend team reviews and present information, as needed. Meet documentation requirements, including obtaining and transcribing physicians’ orders, daily nursing notes, health charts, medication regimen reviews, and case review summaries. Provide medication administration. Maintain inventory standards for medication, controlled substances, and medical supplies. Participate in staff training. Prepare clinical and administrative reports. Eligibility Open to the public: licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State; must maintain a valid New York State license and registration. Open to New York State Employees Transfer opportunity – one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or in a title eligible for 70.1 transfer. Compensation Salary schedule: $113,147 – $122,138. Posted hiring salary includes the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18, a Geographic Differential of $35,000, and a Mid‑Hudson Adjustment of $2,000. Employees hired for the 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm shift qualify for a shift differential (+7%) and inconvenience pay ($575).
