Tax Intern

Internship Learning Objectives
- Gain hands-on experience in professional client relations within a public accounting setting
- Develop an understanding of various software and tools that are used by the firm to prepare client returns
- Gain a further understanding of the IRS code and preparation of individual, business and trust tax returns for clients
- Learn the process of completing a tax return from inquiry, gathering information, client follow-up, and completion of the tax return
- Understand how a firm trains its personnel and how training enhances work requirements
- Develop a skillset of gathering questions and asking appropriate personnel for assistance
- Develop skills required to interact with other professionals at varying levels (staff, managers or partners)
- Develop time management skills and the ability to be responsible for more than one project at a time. Also, develop organizational skills of tracking time when working on a project
- Weekly team meetings, panels, lunches and trainings to provide insight on the accounting profession
- No experience necessary we will train the right candidates
- Paid position
- Candidates pursuing a BS or MS in accounting or taxation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail and goal oriented
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Willingness and desire to learn
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
