Job Profile The bank is seeking an FIU Analyst (Financial Intelligence Unit Analyst) who will be responsible for assisting with BSA‑related functions that can include: analysis, investigation, and disposition of alerts generated from the bank’s BSA/AML automated surveillance monitoring software, completing and documenting case investigations, or completing suspicious activity reports (SAR). Education Level Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) Work Experience Minimum of 5 years banking experience in a BSA/AML Analyst position in a financial institution Experience monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing account activity to identify fraud or suspicious activity Experience conducting investigations and enhanced due diligence at an advanced level Certifications CAMS (Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist) or CAFP (Certified AML and Fraud Professional) preferred Familiarity with various AML monitoring systems and commercial research databases Knowledge and understanding of BSA/AML regulations Strong understanding of bank operations including but not limited to navigating banking systems, understanding teller transactions, and interpreting customer transactions Duties/Responsibilities Adhere to all provisions of SouthState Bank policies and procedures, including the confidentiality policy, code of ethics, and BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures Analyze accounts for unusual or suspicious activity through the use of various reports and alerts generated by the bank’s anti‑money laundering system Communicate with bank personnel and management on CDD/EDD deficiencies detected during the account monitoring process Conduct account investigations and research to address any account irregularities and determine whether escalation is warranted Document all findings in a centralized case management system to ensure complete documentation is secured and maintained as required by law Ensure all determinations can be supported by evidence and are well documented in an organized, cohesive manner Escalate activity that meets the established criteria for investigating suspected fraudulent or potential unusual activity through the submission of an Unusual Activity Referral Form Maintain proficiency in all aspects of BSA/AML or fraud compliance Process alerts by determining whether to clear or to elevate for further investigation based on an analysis of findings Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned, according to the needs of the bank Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Ability to draft reports, prepare documents, and compose letters, memorandums, and business correspondence Ability to handle and accomplish multiple tasks and resolve competing priorities effectively Ability to identify fraudulent, unusual, or suspicious activity and understand when it needs to be escalated Ability to interface with all business lines and legal entities and people of varying levels, titles, and knowledge Ability to perform a detailed analysis of accounts and relationships Ability to read, analyze, and interpret federal and state banking regulations related to the Bank Secrecy Act and anti‑money laundering Ability to work and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity, high‑demand and deadline‑driven environment Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient with PC work, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other varying software as needed; knowledge of and ability to use internal bank systems a plus Self‑motivated, dependable, adaptable, and detail‑oriented with strong research and organizational skills Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Working Conditions Telecommuting roles—hybrid or 100% full‑time—must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions Must have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by cellular data (hot spot) Cable or fiber connections are preferred Remote work is not a substitute for child/dependent care Requirements are subject to change as new systems and technology are delivered Travel may be required for attendance at meetings as needed Benefits/Perks Employee Perks Insurance Retirement Work/Life Balance Employer’s Statement SouthState Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr Quontic Bank
