Job Summary

• Design, implement, secure, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Focus on cloud architecture, automation, security, and compliance with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and related standards.

Job Description

• Build, manage, and maintain cloud infrastructure, storage, and network solutions (AWS, GovCloud, etc.).
• Provide expertise in AWS cost modeling (allocation, forecasting, optimization strategies such as Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, spot usage, rightsizing).
• Continuously analyze and optimize cloud spend using AWS Cost Explorer, CUR, and third-party platforms.
• Educate and mentor engineering teams on AWS best practices, cloud architecture, and cost-efficient design patterns.
• Lead cloud architecture decisions and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Implement security controls (IAM, encryption, logging, monitoring).
• Work with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS).
• Implement cloud infrastructure hardening (STIGs, etc.).
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities (e.g., WIZ).
• Provide modest-level 24x7 on-call support for key systems.
• Ensure compliance with DoD 8140 Certification requirements.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain U.S. Government security clearance.

Minimum Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with:
  • Cloud infrastructure, storage, and networking
  • AWS cost modeling and optimization
  • IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Security controls and vulnerability remediation
  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS)

Preferred Qualifications

• cArmy experience highly preferred.
• AWS Professional-level certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional).
• Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53).
• Understanding of and experience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program.
• Knowledge of managing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in cloud environments.
