Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Litigation Associate Attorney with 4–6 years of relevant experience to join a growing legal team in Houston, TX. This position is primarily focused on construction and commercial litigation matters, while also offering exposure to transactional legal work related to construction and business operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, exceptional legal writing and analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage cases while collaborating closely with senior attorneys and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze legal issues and prepare briefs, motions, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents
• Draft pleadings, contracts, agreements, and correspondence
• Manage all phases of discovery, including document review, written discovery, and case preparation
• Attend and handle court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, including defending and taking depositions
• Support dispute resolution and settlement negotiations
• Assist with transactional matters involving construction and commercial projects
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal legal teams
• Maintain accurate case management and meet litigation deadlines

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active Bar admission required
• 4–6 years of litigation experience, preferably in construction litigation or commercial litigation
• Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Experience handling pleadings, motions, discovery, and litigation strategy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
