Today, Options serves over 2,000 adults and children annually and manages more than 160 residential properties across Long Island. *$500 Sign-on Bonus!* Options for Community Living, Inc. is looking for Per Diem Residential Counselors to join our team! An ideal candidate should meet the following requirements: Have a passion for assisting those diagnosed with mental illness. Must be a self-starter and well organized. Must be a high school graduate or the equivalent. Experience in a residential program preferred. Required to provide coverage when offered (within your identified availability), respond to staff when contacted to request coverage within 48 hours, and report to shifts once commitment is made. Must provide coverage at a minimum, 1 shift per month. Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, valid auto insurance and access to a vehicle is required. Locations: ** **In person (subject to available openings): Port Jefferson Station Medford Oakdale East Islip Huntington Station Ronkonkoma Pay Type: Non-exempt Responsibilities: At Options for Community Living, Inc., individuals living with a mental health diagnosis live, learn, and develop their potential in an environment that respects personal choice. The Relief Residential Counselor provides various support services on a per diem basis to the residents in the activities of daily living. Participate in the planning and evaluation of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives. Train and assist residents in the activities of daily living. Document services provided with appropriate notes. Manage medication and document accordingly. Provide case management and follow-up service. Provide counseling, behavioral intervention and crisis management services while following emergency procedures. Assist in the day-to-day management and household maintenance of the community residence in a professional manner. Provide transportation to residents as needed. Responsible for the management of residence in the absence of a full time Residential Counselor. Notify the Program Supervisor/Program Manager of any medical or psychiatric emergency. Complete overnight checklists and after-hours log during overnight shifts. Read and enter notes in Foothold Communication Log every shift.Complete and maintain all training requirements in a timely manner. Other relevant responsibilities as assigned by management.
