Infant/Toddler Early Educator

Rutland County Parent Child Center is seeking a nurturing, collaborative Early Childhood Educator for our Rutland, Vermont location. We are dedicated to helping young children develop and grow in a safe, nurturing environment, recognizing individual strengths, creating trusting relationships, and partnering with families and communities to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child. RCPCC uses a 2‑Gen approach, working with both families and children simultaneously to identify needs and align programming to deliver services with long‑term impacts. Our Rutland team is currently seeking a qualified assistant to support our infant group. Candidates must have availability from 7:00 am‑4:45 pm. What You’ll Do All Early Educators work directly with young children, ages birth through age 5. Lead teachers plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to meet objectives through hands‑on, play‑based activities. Classroom environments are created to engage children using philosophies ranging from Montessori to Reggio Emilia. Assistants and floats support the lead, connect with children, and may assist in multiple areas of the center. RCPCC is an EOE/Veterans/Disabled/LGBT employer. General responsibilities include: Assisting in the implementation of curricula activities and encouraging participation by children. Actively engaging in activities; managing cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials. Maintaining frequent communications with families. Helping ensure smooth, daily transitions. Following all center policies and state regulations. Maintaining a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Requirements Candidates who qualify as a teacher assistant per VT childcare regulations are preferred, but not required. This includes a year of experience in a center‑based setting AND completion of Fundamentals, OR a 3‑credit college course with a focus on human growth and development OR completion of a high school program focusing on human services. Experience working with infants in a center‑based environment is required. Candidates must be caring and compassionate, have strong communication skills with both adults and children, extraordinary patience, and a passion to serve families and the community.
