Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: Temporary to Permanent Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification from AHA required Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred - 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred - BLS certification required - RN License in state of employment or compact Description: The competent Nurse, in a similar clinical setting, practices independently. Demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies in clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
