Description:
Client auto deducts the state tax, but you are able to re-add that back in.
Primary location, but travelers may be required to float throughout the region.
Additional compensation is provided when floating within the designated region that is not the primary facility.
The unit has 24 beds with staff-to-patient ratios of 1:3-4.
Required certifications include NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS.
Common diagnoses/types of patients include pneumonia, ARDS, Covid-19 infection, hypertension urgency, angina, cardiac catheterization patients, and alcohol withdrawal.
RNs are required to titrate drips, including amiodarone, diltiazem, dopamine, nitroglycerin, lasix, and dobutamine.
Charge nurses and house supervisors are available 24/7.
Nurse aids are present on the unit with a ratio of 1:10.
Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BIPAP, and high-flow oxygen.
Remote monitor technicians work with RN approval.
The shift schedule includes 12-hour shifts from 6 PM to 6:30 AM.
There is a weekend requirement every other week.
There is a requirement to work two of the winter holidays.
Standby is possible if additional staff are available.
Floating is a requirement for this position.
There is a unit-specific orientation process in place.
Flexibility with the schedule may be necessary.
The hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
Charting is done using an electronic system.
