Customer Service, Patient Registration Representative

Position Location: Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin Shift Hours: Full Time in the ER, Sunday to Tuesday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Wednesday 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM Job Title: Customer Service Representative (Patient Registration) Overview Work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume Emergency Department to help patients check into the hospital. You will be the primary point of contact for patients during registration, collecting information accurately and quickly while also listening with compassion to address their concerns. Responsibilities Operate computers and answer phones to intake patient information in a busy, high‑volume ER environment. Collect and input data accurately across multiple programs while managing interruptions from clinicians. Help patients who may be ill or worried, building rapport and easing anxiety through attentive listening and follow‑up questions. Maintain speed and accuracy in a demanding, on‑feet work environment requiring quick adaptation to unexpected situations. Collaborate with the team and support overall workflow; this role is a first step in a healthcare career path. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Excellent customer service experience. Ready to work in a very fast‑paced, high‑stress environment. Basic computer multitasking and typing skills. Hospital or medical/clinic experience (preferred). Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred. Pay Base pay range: $15.50 – $23.21 per hour, determined by role, level, location, job‑related skills, experience, and education or training.
