We're hiring a Director, Financial Planning (Paraplanner). Mt. Laurel, NJ. Hybrid.

We're a well-established and growing wealth management firm and we need someone who thrives behind the scenes: developing financial plans, prepping for client meetings, running follow-up with clients, managing priorities across a full advisory calendar, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

You're the person who actually reads the eMoney output before the meeting. You catch the details and work closely with our CEO and lead advisor to identify new planning strategies. You'd rather build the perfect workflow than pitch a product.

What you'll do day to day: own meeting prep and follow-up, triage client communication (emails, phone calls), partner with our service team to keep execution tight, and help us get more out of our planning and CRM tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and update comprehensive financial plans, covering cash flow, retirement, education, tax strategies, insurance, and complex scenario analysis.
• Prepare thoroughly for client meetings by reviewing updated planning outputs, assisting our CEO in scenario modeling and highlighting key discussion items for the advisory team.
• Own post‑meeting follow‑up by generating clean meeting summaries, translating advisor decisions into clear and actionable tasks, and ensuring assignments are properly routed to the correct team members in the CRM.
• Triage and manage the CEO's inbox by prioritizing client requests, drafting responses on their behalf, and coordinating timely resolutions.
• Serve as a confident client‑facing point of contact by returning calls, responding to emails, and communicating next steps with professionalism and strong judgment.
• Partner with the client service team to reduce back‑and‑forth by anticipating questions and ensuring instructions are specific, accurate, and complete before work is handed off.
• Maintain strong control of weekly priorities by tracking and managing deadlines across multiple clients and meetings, proactively identifying bottlenecks, and keeping the advisory team informed.
• Continuously look for ways to improve planning workflows and reporting by learning new platform capabilities and suggesting process enhancements.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3+ years of experience supporting financial planning and client service within a wealth management, RIA, or similar environment.
• Service‑oriented mindset who wants to be part of a strong, collaborative team.
• Ability to prioritize and execute across multiple deadlines, with independence and high attention to detail.
• High comfort level with technology and learning new systems quickly, including strong Excel skills. Loves to find ways to reduce friction across processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the judgment and confidence to represent the firm in client interactions.

Nice to have:

• CFP coursework (not required).
• Series 7, 65 or 66 license.
• Experience with financial planning software, particularly eMoney.
• Prior experience supporting financial advisors in a client‑facing capacity.
• Experience with CRM‑driven workflows and task management.
