Job Summary
The Machinist uses machines, tooling, inspection equipment, and other tools as needed to manufacture custom mechanical components to customers’ specifications while maintaining the company’s quality management system (QMS). The machinist is also responsible for maintaining and repairing the equipment used in manufacturing.
Duties and Essential Job Functions
Overall
· Promote Lifecycle Specialties
· Uphold excellence in all areas
· Support all activities as required by Lifecycle Specialties’ Quality Manual, ISO 9001, and AS9100
· Continuous improvement
Machining
· Reads and understands blueprints, print specifications, GD&T, and job routers to be able to plan
and complete the assigned job
· Uses extensive knowledge of available tooling and the latest technologies to plan and select the
appropriate tools to be used for the project
· Machines the material by cutting, drilling, grinding, milling, boring, lapping, etc. according to job
routers
· Finishes and assembles parts
· Continuously works to decrease cycle times on jobs while maintaining quality
· Follows all Quality Management System (QMS) processes
Inspections
· Ensures all project specifications are met by performing inspections as defined in the control plan
· Accurately records all required data into Excel inspection template
· Assists with PPAP inspections, measurement systems analysis, and capabilities studies
E2 Software
· Uses software to record daily hours worked
· Uses software to log in and out of jobs
· Uses software to record set-up times, quantity of good parts produced, and quantity of scrapped parts
Other
· Assists with PPAP documentation
· Receives incoming shipments
· Packages jobs for shipping
· Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area and shop
· Maintains machines, including routine cleaning, lubrication, replacing coolant, etc.
· Remove trash
Academic Competencies
High school diploma or GED is required
Vocational training is preferred
CNC programming is desired
Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards is desired
Experience with shop production software - Shoptech E2 preferred
Experience with advanced measurement systems - CMM, Zeiss Surfcom, Mahr MMQ, QVI Sprint MVP 200 preferred
Basic computer skills
Microsoft Office skills –Excel preferred

3 years experience machining required (Not as an operator)
Quality assurance and continuous improvement desired
Maintenance, installation, and repair of machines desired
Tool calibration desired
