Build rapport quickly with diverse customers and confidently explain the CarMax appraisal process. Communicate effectively in-person and by phone to understand customer motivations and follow up with undecided sellers. Advocate for CarMax, clearly sharing why we’re the smart choice for selling a car. Facilitate appraisal steps, including discovery, presenting offers, and addressing objections. Accurately collect and input data to support precise appraisal offers and maintain composure under pressure, ensuring a positive experience in challenging situations. Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Required Qualifications Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a dynamic environment. Strong attention to detail for reading, interpreting, and transcribing data accurately. Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-energy, fast-paced setting. Excellent verbal communication and listening skills for engaging with customers and team members. Completion of CarMax training and participation in scheduled meetings. Physical capability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, while wearing CarMax-provided work attire. The hourly rate for this position is: $16.01 - $16.01 Commissions: This position is eligible for commission. Benefits: Except as otherwise required by state law, those considered part-time are eligible for sick time only in states that mandate it and amounts are accrued on a per pay period basis and range from 24 hours to unlimited based on state rules. In Washington, part-time Associates receive sick leave consistent with state law. Part-time Associates are also eligible for between 8 hours and 40 hours per year of vacation based on their length of service and subject to a 1 year waiting period.
