Fire Alarm Systems Technician

Birmingham, Alabama, United States of America This role supports our Pelham, AL branch location, serving customers statewide. We empower customers by integrating real‑world and digital solutions to create efficient, safe, adaptable, and responsible buildings. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will participate in the installation, programming, startup, and commissioning of state‑of‑the‑art fire alarm equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals. Your expertise and customer interaction keep buildings and inhabitants safe. Responsibilities Assist with the commissioning of new fire alarm systems on construction ensuring seamless integration Assist with testing and inspecting existing fire alarm systems Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader Complete commissioning within planned timelines Submit accurate time and expense logs Work overtime when needed Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Electro‑mechanical experience (from a previous role or education) and user PC/software skill; proficient in Microsoft Office Willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted Obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; eligible to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred Ability to read/understand design and construction documents Compensation The pay range for this position is $42,340 - $72,583 annually. The actual wage may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
