Compensation

$125,000 to $175,000 depending on your skills and years of experience

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Mentoring

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for automation and control systems
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
• Provide technical guidance and QA/QC oversight to ensure alignment with project and client standards

Technical Execution

• Manage and support engineering services related to automation, communication, and control systems
• Lead project planning and execution with minimal supervision
• Ensure deliverables meet cybersecurity and critical infrastructure requirements
• Support field work, testing, and troubleshooting
• Allocate resources and delegate tasks across projects
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, market trends, and regulatory changes

Client & Business Engagement

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients
• Support proposal development, project budgeting, and contract negotiations
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred (or ability to obtain within 6–12 months)
• Strong understanding of schematics, control logic, and automation programming
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, LAN infrastructure, and standard communication protocols
• Experience with automation platforms such as GE, Siemens, ABB, or SEL is a plus
• Strong multitasking and communication skills
• Experience with electric utility or renewable energy projects preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug screening, background check, and MVR check

Work Environment

• Occasional travel (up to 10%) to client sites or other SGC offices
• Some fieldwork may involve walking on uneven terrain
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
• Frequent use of computers and standard office tools
