Miller/Compounder | Taunton, MA | $24.27hr.

• Pay: $24.27/hour (paid weekly)
• Start: Quick onboarding—start working soon! What You’ll Do
• Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Record operational and production data on specified forms
• Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas, using moving equipment and hand tools
• Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards
• Closely follow work orders for every job to ensure compliance to customer specifications and process
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
• Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
• Determine causes of operating errors and actively troubleshoot to correct problems
• Mixing/Compound Blending - Produce Master Batches to be used for specific work orders:
o Accurately measure specified amounts of materials to be added to mixing machinery/equipment
o Start machines to mix or blend ingredients; then allow them to mix for specified times
o Transfer finished material from bowl to lined buckets and or plastic bags
o Properly identify each batch with the required information per procedure
o Perform full cleanouts of mixing machine and equipment between different jobs
o Submit required number of samples from each batch to QA/QC for testing
• Screening – Removes impurities from mixed material:
o Load preformed blocks of material into screening machine and run cycle
o Monitor material as it feeds through the screen and cut to desired lengths as machine runs
o Weigh cut pieces and adjust as necessary to meet weight specifications
o Wrap finished pieces in plastic, label each with the correct information and load onto racks
• Milling – Works the material through rolling cylinders to mix and transform to sheets:
o Make slabs representing formulation to be used, identify correctly and submit to QA/QC when complete for testing
o Weigh the individual materials for the batch size to be milled per the Mill Room Formula sheet
o Operator feeds blocks of material through the rolling cylinders and adds the remaining materials and guides it through over and over, cutting and turning it repeatedly as it mills to create final product
o Material is cut from mill into thin sheets and placed on racks to be sent to extrusion
• Lift, push, or pull up to 55 lbs. and perform repeated physical tasks such as standing, walking, and bending throughout your shift Requirements
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Mathematical and measuring skills
• Control precision, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, manual dexterity, and ability to have short reaction time
• Strong commitment to attendance, safety, and teamwork
