Production Scheduler

About the Role Pierce Manufacturing, part of Oshkosh, builds emergency vehicles and other heavy apparatus parts. As a Lead Scheduler, you will be at the heart of our production engine—transforming forecasts and strategic plans into precise, executable schedules that drive our world‑class emergency vehicle assembly lines. Your Impact Creates master schedule slots and assignment of forecast groups Reschedules based upon changes to line rates or production performance Sequences within the day to align with production capability Coordinates with Sales on reassignment of forecast groups or model mix changes per the Firm Order Review process Performs planning bill quarterly maintenance—updates percentages based on history and projections from Sales and Marketing Coordinates with Tactical and Materials departments on planning safety stock to support sales changes, utilizing history to determine required safety stock Learns all aspects of scheduling, including SIOP generation of line rates to support shipment plan Develops a supply plan and inventory plan based on the revised shipment plan Creates line rates that will achieve the supply plan Coordinates with GPSC to create an achievable supply plan Interfaces with Materials on PFEP, inventory control, and materials management Learns the materials transactions process to assist in managing inventory accuracy of finished goods, contract manufacturing, and inter‑company transfers/sales Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in a related field Four or more years of related work experience Standout Qualifications Previous scheduling or planning experience in a manufacturing environment Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel Understanding of Lean principles Supply chain studies at the college level Working knowledge of ERP systems APICS certification or exposure Working Conditions Role is performed in a professional office environment with standard lighting, ventilation, and temperature control. Duties are largely sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting and using a computer and telephone. Visual acuity to operate a computer and read documents is required, along with auditory ability to participate in virtual and in‑person meetings. Occasional movement within the office environment is necessary, including walking short distances, standing, or reaching for files.
