Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking dedicated healthcare professionals to join our long-term care and rehabilitation team. Our facility has a total of 52 beds, providing care primarily to long-term residents and patients requiring rehabilitation services.Experience RequirementsMinimum of 1 year of relevant experience required.First-time travelers are accepted if they have long-term care experience.Travelers must reside more than 100 miles away from any facilities.Previous permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as travelers.Patient PopulationOur patient types include:Long-term care or rehabilitation/skilled nursing facility patients.No memory care unit is available.Common diagnoses involve stable conditions and dementia.Nurses will collaborate with hospice registered nurses for comfort care when necessary.Patient RatiosNurse: 1:25-30; 2 nurses per shift (RN/LPN or LPN/LPN).Medication Aide: 1:25-30; 2 medication aides per shift.CNA: 1:10; 5 CNAs per shift.Required CertificationsRN: Basic Life Support (BLS).LPN: Basic Life Support (BLS).CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA certified).Medication Aide: BLS and certified through the state board of nursing.Education RequirementsRN/LPN: Completion of an approved nursing education program.CNA: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.Medication Aide: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.Skills RequiredEssential skills for this role include:Tube feeding, ostomy care, dressing/wound care experience, phlebotomy, and IV starts for RNs and LPNs.Medication Aides must verify medication administration rights and assist nurses in dispensing medications, excluding controlled substances.CNA responsibilities include responding to call lights and assisting residents with activities of daily living.Team DynamicsWe seek team players who are positive and competent, with long-term care experience being an advantage. Staff are expected to work collaboratively and supportively.Testing RequirementAll staff must be willing to undergo COVID testing twice a week, in accordance with CMS guidelines.Orientation & SchedulingOrientation includes 2 shifts for training, with additional sessions provided by the education department.Shifts are typically 12 hours and may vary. If contracted for days, be open to switching to nights if necessary.Weekend rotation is required, minimally every other weekend, with possible additional requests.Holidays are to be worked during two out of four major holidays.Approval for time off includes up to 7 days without prior approval. Extensions require contract amendments.Support on the UnitStaffing includes:Charge nurse available for supervision.Hospitalist on call, providing patient rounds twice a week.Quick response system connected to emergency services.Additional InformationScrub colors: Nurses wear ceil blue tops with black pants; CNAs wear Caribbean blue tops with black pants.Free parking is available.No artificial nails are allowed.In case of inclement weather, staff are required to remain at the facility and will be compensated.
