Directional Drill Foreman

Job Summary This is a key leadership position in the field for Dynetek Solutions. This team member will supervise 3 up to 6 individuals on a job site, depending on experience. In some cases, this team member may have to supervise small crews in different locations they will have responsibility for. Ensuring safety to their team and delivering a quality finished product to the client are the key responsibilities of this team member. Understanding the subtle nuances of different projects and how to successfully navigate situations where there are obstacles present is at the core of this position. Understanding how to get the best out of the people on your team to create cohesiveness and comradery is also a key element of this position. A successful team member in this position will manage the process from start to completion. Responsibilities Must follow all company’s safety policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate safety precautions are taken in all circumstances and at all times. Prepare the job by calling in locates and ensure tickets are cleared, permits are in place, shots have been approved, and all utilities have been located and accounted for. Ensure that the bore crews have all the equipment and tools needed to complete the job. Supervise jobs by walking the job site and provide help to assist bore crew as needed. Operate directional drill and support equipment for underground utility or training purpose. Understanding of directional boring principals, mixing systems and mud, use of mud vac rigs, etc. Secure work site, equipment and materials at the end of each shift. Help crew members to clean‑up job site after work is done, place temporary asphalt patches or concrete on streets as needed, replace sidewalks as needed. Drive/tow truck with drill to job site. Performs preventive maintenance by greasing, oiling and making minor repair on equipment. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Ability to read and comprehend machining instructions, blueprint, process sheet, or layout on workpiece to determine machining required, etc. Work responsibly and communicate effectively as a crew leader. Knowledge of drilling experience of at least 2 years. Understanding of utility locating laws and safety compliance procedures. Ability to read and understand construction prints. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Able to work with loud noises. Able to pass pre‑employment screening that includes background check and drug testing. Able to meet all DOT requirements (physical and drug testing). Able to comply with job physical demands (e.g., standing, bending, walking, driving, etc.). Able to lifts, load and carry workpieces or equipment of minimum 50 pounds in a daily basis. Class A CDL. Compensation & Benefits Hourly, Health Benefits, Dental, Vision, 401K with matching contribution, Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays. Pay is based on experience. Four day work week with limited OT requirements. Paid vacation time and Holidays.
