Market Development Manager-MCU/MPU

POSITION SUMMARY

Lead market development and opportunity cultivation for MCU/MPU solutions across North America within the Marketing organization. Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities in collaboration with Sales, translate customer and market needs into compelling product positioning and development plans, and support Sales in achieving design wins. Work closely with the MCU/MPU business group in Taiwan, regional Sales, and field application engineers (FAEs).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute North American market development strategies for MCU/MPU products, aligned with MCU/MPU business objectives. Identify priority applications, target customers, and actionable market entry opportunities.
• Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities in collaboration with Sales. Develop customer-specific value propositions, solution proposals, and opportunity development plans; coordinate customer engagement through Sales.
• Lead market development and opportunity cultivation, supporting Sales in achieving design-ins and design wins. Collaborate with Sales, FAEs, and MCU/MPU business group to address product fit, customer requirements, and project milestones.
• Work with Sales to provide manufacturers’ representatives (Reps) and distributors with MCU/MPU product training, application guidance, competitive positioning, and market development support.
• Conduct market, competitive, focused on major MCU/MPU application segments. Define product positioning and go-to-market plans, including opportunities for edge AI-enabled MCU/MPU solutions.
• Translate North American customer insights into actionable product requirements and strategic recommendations for MCU/MPU product roadmaps, product definition, and development priorities.
• Maintain customer opportunity and project updates in CRM in coordination with Sales, including customer requirements, milestones, next actions, and support needs.
• Exercise autonomy in market analysis, product positioning, and market development planning within agreed business priorities.
• Travel within North America to support customer meetings, channel training, and market development. Some international travel may be required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, or Computer Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• At least 10 years of relevant semiconductor experience in product marketing, market development, technical sales, FAE/applications, product design, or development support, with practical knowledge of MCU/MPU products and applications.
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into qualified business opportunities and product or solution proposals, with evidence of contributions to design-ins, design wins, or business growth.
• Strong understanding of MCU/MPU applications, competitive offerings, embedded system requirements, and relevant software development tools and ecosystems.
• Experience launching products, developing new markets, or cultivating new customer opportunities
• Ability to work effectively with Sales, FAEs, distributors, and Reps, and to influence cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
• Native-level English proficiency, both spoken and written, with the ability to lead customer discussions, deliver technical and business presentations, and prepare clear proposals.
• Self-motivated, analytical, and organized, with the ability to proactively develop plans, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with remote and global teams.
• Ability to maintain accurate CRM records and communicate opportunity status, risks, and required actions clearly.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing a team of marketing engineers or related roles
• Experience collaborating with overseas headquarters or global product and engineering teams.
• Knowledge of edge AI/NPU-enabled MCU/MPU solutions and related embedded applications.
• Experience in home and industrial automation, System on Module (SOM), aftermarket Automotive, or other relevant MCU/MPU application markets.
• Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus but is not required.
