Job Overview

West Central Technology is seeking an Account Specialist to join our growing sales team. This role would be positioned on the inside sales team and own a portfolio of client accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for retention, renewals, and sales opportunities. By proactively managing licensing and subscription renewals, this position plays a key role in keeping our client relationships strong and our recurring revenue base healthy.

Our ideal candidate has genuine care for client relationships, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to account management. The right candidate should be comfortable working independently while also contributing as a flexible, dependable member of the sales team.

This position requires strong communication skills, both with clients and internal team members, and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage assigned client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for retention, renewals, and sales opportunities
• Accurately build quotes as needed while supporting the overall team needs
• Proactively track upcoming licensing, warranty, and subscription renewals, reaching out to clients ahead of expiration to ensure timely renewal
• Perform selling to assigned client accounts, identifying opportunities for upgrades to managed services or increased engagement
• Assist the overall sales team with renewal outreach and quoting when additional support is needed
• Support deal registration and special pricing requests with vendors
• Help clients resolve billing questions and issues as they arise
• Identify when an account has grown in complexity and may warrant promotion to a Client Success Manager
  
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date account and renewal records in internal systems
• Contribute to a positive and productive team environment
• Perform other duties as required

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to account management
• Comfortable managing multiple accounts, renewals, and deadlines simultaneously
• Solid written and verbal communication skills, primarily via phone and email
• Experience with account management, renewals, or sales is a plus
• Comfortable working with CRM, quoting, or order entry software (training provided)
• A client-first mindset with a focus on retention and long-term client relationships
• Basic understanding of licensing, subscriptions, or vendor renewal processes is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively across the sales team

General Requirements

• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to travel as required
• Ability to work scheduled hours
• Familiarity with standard office equipment and tools

Compensation

This is an hourly position. Compensation is a blend of a fixed base wage and metric-based pay, based on experience and skill level.
