Floor Technician

Title Floor Technician Job Overview The Floor Technician will safely perform floor care functions such as waxing, stripping, and buffing according to standards and procedures, and provide environmental services as needed. Roles & Responsibilities Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at-risk behaviors in others and self. Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments. Perform repetitive tasks and maintain a clean work area. Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules. Take direction and respond to supervision; communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers. Fill in during staff shortages, such as custodial, recycle, or maintenance. Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items. Use proper personal protective equipment required for assigned tasks. Present a professional appearance and conduct. Understand customer service and satisfaction, and reporting systems. Operate motorized cleaning equipment. Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area. Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring. Complete work assignments in a timely manner. Utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure. Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely. Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs such as "wet floor". Work without normal supervision while reporting safety hazards as appropriate. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: No education requirement. 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver’s license (may be required). Complete all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team. Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment. Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Physical Demands & Work Environment The employee is frequently required to sit, talk or listen, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and work in a cleaning environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Compensation and Shift On Call: Monday‑Sunday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm.
