Industrial Packaging Maintenance Mechanic

Job Type: Full-time

Sign-on Bonus: $2000 paid at 30 days

Overtime: Available; weekend work may be required

A day in the life

You arrive on the production floor, review the day’s assignments, and scan through prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, check sheets, manuals, sketches, and preventive maintenance instructions. A case packer flags a fault—within minutes, you’re diagnosing a pneumatic issue, swapping a worn component, and bringing the line back up safely. Later, you partner with line workers to complete a rapid changeover before the next production run, fine-tuning setups so the first cases off the line meet spec. Between calls, you rebuild a gearbox at the bench, verify motor alignment, and document adjustments, always with safety and PPE front of mind.

What you’ll do

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic breakdowns on industrial packaging and facility support equipment
• Tear down, rebuild, and replace components (motors, gear boxes, clutches, bearings, electrical units); reassemble and perform final adjustments
• Set up liquid fill lines and execute changeovers on assigned equipment and production lines
• Simplify and improve changeover procedures; assist line staff throughout the process
• Repair and restore machinery to service; dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts
• Partner effectively with production, supervision, and senior management; assist supervisor with day-to-day line operations
• Adhere to and promote all safety policies and PPE requirements
• Participate in special projects, meetings, and other duties as assigned

Equipment you’ll work with

Carton erectors, carton sealers, liquid fillers, case packers, palletizers, cappers, conveyors, labelers, and more. Blow molding experience with Uniloy or Bekum blowmolders is a plus.

What you bring

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
• Strong electro-mechanical skill set; knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and working knowledge of AC 480–120 V and DC up to 180 V/low-voltage controls
• Proven troubleshooting strengths across electrical and mechanical systems (pneumatic, gearboxes, hydraulic, and cam-type)
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
• Bring your own basic mechanic’s hand tools
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Physical capability to lift and move 40–60 lbs and lift up to 55 lbs; stand and walk 80–90% of the shift while responding to calls
• Good visual accuracy; ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet fast-paced goals and standards
