Job Description
Cardiac Stepdown Nurse

Job Summary

The Cardiac Stepdown Nurse provides specialized care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures and those with complex cardiac needs. This role involves monitoring patient status, administering medications, and participating in patient education.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and assess patients in a Cardiac PCU/Stepdown unit.
Administer medications, including titration of cardiac drips, per protocol.
Provide post-procedural care for patients recovering from catheterization and other cardiac interventions.
Perform sheath removal and monitor access sites for complications.
Implement care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Educate patients and their families about cardiac health and recovery processes.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar nursing role.
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS.
Experience in cath lab recovery or observation units.
Familiarity with general medical/surgical patient care.

Shift Details

This position requires a 12-hour shift from 7 AM to 7 PM, with rotation every other weekend.
