The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking a full time Supervisory Information Technology Specialist 09894761M to work for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Nuclear Command Control (NC3) Directorate, Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems (CROWS) Program at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts.

Value of Position (VoP): Deputy Cyber OSF, NH-2210-04 (98) position has a typical 2026 salary range of $142,452 to $197,200. (Includes locality)

Desirable Skills:

Cybersecurity and Cyber Resiliency. Including System Security Engineering, Cyber Resiliency, Weapon System and National Security System (NSS) cyber experience, cybersecurity policy and process, Risk Management Framework (RMF), Software Assurance, and Cryptography. Previous Cybersecurity experience is required. Previous Defense Acquisition, Program Management, and Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3) enterprise experience is highly desired.

Summary: Serves as a Supervisory Information Technology Program Manager (PLCYPLN/ENTARCH) and Deputy Lead for the Cyber Survivability Team (CST) supporting Air Force Portfolio Acquisition Executive (AFPAE), Nuclear Command, Control, and Communication (NC3). Directs and executes NC3 Weapon System security governance and cyber resiliency engineering for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Integration Directorate (AFNWC/NC).

Assists in leading and supervising a team that provides technical system security engineering and cyber resiliency expertise in design, development, manufacture, operation, maintenance, and disposal of Air Force Weapon Systems.

Advises the AFPAE NC3 and the NC3 Integration Directorate in integrating cyber resiliency and security into the system development life-cycle and mitigating critical cyber vulnerabilities in fielded systems. Guides development of cyber requirements and RFP activities, evaluates contractor technical proposals, supports program technical reviews, analyzes and recommends technical system security engineering and cyber mitigations and lines of effort. Assists with verification & validation plans, and supports cyber integration in systems operation and sustainment activities.

Represents the PAE and Directorate by coordinating with internal and external mission stakeholders, to including functional counterparts, product centers, MAJCOMs, HAF/DAF Staff, other DoD organizations and Services, other federal agencies, industry partners and academia. Recommends IT and engineering policy and processes to ensure technical integrity and consistency of application in system security engineering and cyber resiliency.

This position requires strong communication and technical systems engineering, system security engineering, cyber, and system acquisition knowledge, skills, and abilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Analyzes areas of concern, identifies problems, and resolves conflicts through persuasive discussions with management and user representatives. Consults with other officials and working groups, customers, and other organization personnel on cybersecurity concerns. Prepares reports encompassing long and short-range planning strategy recommendations and presents briefings covering recommendations for acquisition or changes in business practices.

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Interviews candidates for positions; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment. Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager. Effects minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training. Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Develops performance standards.

Makes periodic, comprehensive assessments and evaluations of program goals/objectives which provide a basis for long and short-range planning to enhance the organization's support capabilities. Directs, leads, integrates, and coordinates the collective efforts of a multi-disciplined staff assigned to support cybersecurity efforts across all division programs. Establishes, revises or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organizational design to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. Balances workload and provides overall direction and vision to subordinate supervisors. Evaluates requirements for additional resources submitted by subordinate supervisors, and balances organization needs with overall mission requirements and resource interests. Identifies need for change in organizational priorities and takes action to implement such changes. Reviews training recommended by subordinate supervisors to assure it is proper and promotes effective operation of the organization as a whole.

Represents the organization in a variety of installation and functional area activities. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other organizations, outside agencies, and senior leadership. Delivers presentations on status of programs, accomplishments, problems, and requirements for support to senior military officers and civilians. Leads or participates in special projects and initiatives to determine appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow-up. Recommends actions or interpretation of issues. Collaborates and plans with other command managers and appropriate supporting organizations to negotiate, decide on, coordinate, and/or integrate organization operations and interests of other organizations.

Requirements:

• The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

• Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on military and commercial aircraft.

• The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

• This is a Comm & Info centrally managed position so PCS will be covered.

• This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.

• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random drug testing for drug use.

• This position has been designated as a Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) coded position per DoD 8140. The employee must meet or be capable of meeting DCWF work role requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
