Summary

You will serve as a WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Quality Assurance Office (Code 130) of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

Help

• You will evaluate project plans and other technical documents to identify code support required to complete long and short-term overhaul, repair, and
  maintenance projects for nuclear and non-nuclear ships and submarines.
• You will determine staffing (manning) requirements by evaluating the type and quantity of work to be performed and the workforce needed to complete the work.
• You will analyze and consider factors such as skill and experience levels of employees; qualifications held by employees; effect of new work on department divisions, availability of employees; equitability and appropriateness of assignments, etc.
• You will research, identify, and implement multi-faceted workforce management strategies.
• You will serve as the department's point of contact for managing and facilitating administrative operations within the department directly associated with recruiting, selecting, and hiring new employees.
• You will partner with managers to ascertain and clarify competencies related to work requirements and identify necessary technical and soft skills specific to
  unique positions.
• You will participate in developing hiring/revitalization and workforce development plans.
• You will maintain ongoing communication with various stakeholders to clarify recruitment criteria, resolve administrative delays, expedite filling critical positions, recommend process changes, and provide status updates.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and allocating workforce resources based on department workload requirements and coordinating administrative operations associated with recruiting and hiring personnel to ensure the timely completion of project objectives.

Additional information

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
