Program Assistant

Overview Program Assistant position with the Watauga County Department of Parks and Recreation. Under general supervision, the role performs intermediate skilled clerical work and a variety of program and office assistant tasks. Responsibilities Typing correspondence, answering telephones, greeting the public, and collecting fees. Processing accounts payable and payroll; maintaining records and files; preparing reports from RecTrac. Developing schedules for part-time staff; assisting with program and office operations. Qualifications Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by a thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques is preferred. Salary and Benefits Salary grade 4, $46,703. County benefit package includes health insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.
