Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Henrico, VA Onsite
Experience: 4 8 Years

Job Summary: Seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers with a strong background in Low Voltage Switchgear and Sheet Metal Design. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing switchgear components and support structures, along with knowledge of UL 891 standards and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop Low Voltage Switchgear and related mechanical components.
Perform sheet metal design, including support structures and copper components.
Design mechanical components for Tap-Off Units, Power Distribution Units (PDU), Remote Power Panels (RPP), and Main Switch Boards.
Apply UL 891 standards to mechanical designs and product development.
Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are production-ready and meet DFM requirements.
Support design improvements and manufacturing processes as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
4 8 years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience.
Strong Low Voltage Switchgear industry/design experience is required.
Hands-on experience with Sheet Metal and Copper Component Design.
Knowledge of UL 891 Standards.
Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and SolidWorks.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
