Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in delivering comprehensive psych care to patients, working closely with an interdisciplinary team in both long-term care and acute settings.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing psychiatric consults for residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities
• Conducting mental health assessments for conditions including depression, anxiety, dementia-related behaviors, schizophrenia, and mood disorders
• Evaluating cognitive status and behavioral symptoms
• Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications and monitoring effectiveness and side effects
• Collaborating with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and nursing teams
• Developing behavioral management plans to improve quality of life and reduce hospitalizations
• Providing counseling and education to patients, families, and caregivers

Qualifications include:

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility (hospital/outpatient office experience will also be considered)
• Active and unrestricted NP license, DEA license required, CPR certification (BCLS/BLS)
• Master's degree in Nursing (NP applicants) or graduation from an accredited NP program
• Preferred: Experience in psych (training available if not)
• Preferred: Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Sigma, Visual, PCC – training provided)
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
