Job Summary

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) registered nurse (RN) traveler position located on the university campus. This 13-week assignment runs from 10/20/2026 to 01/23/2027, featuring a rotating schedule that includes 12-hour days and nights, with options for straight nights only. The role involves providing specialized care for critically ill pediatric patients from birth to 21 years of age.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour rotating days and nights or straight nights only; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN); Colorado RN license; 2+ years of experience in a comparable Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as a staff RN; 3+ years if no previous travel experience; experience caring for patients from birth to 21 years with diagnoses including respiratory conditions (nasal cannula, Trilogy BiPap/CPap, all ventilators), chronic childhood diseases, sepsis, traumatic brain injury (TBI), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), seizure disorders, oncology, metabolic disorders; surgical patients such as neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, general surgery. Equipment proficiency with Trilogy & Drager ventilators, Codman intracranial pressure (ICP) monitors, Medfusion syringe pumps, Baxter large volume intravenous (IV) pumps; certifications include required BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support); preferred ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
• Preferred Qualifications: Over 2 years of staff experience; at least 1 year of travel experience in a teaching facility PICU.
• Float: Eligible to float to all inpatient care areas, including critical care and acute care floors. Client reserves the right to float or reassign personnel within their competence and within thirty-five (35) miles of their assigned facility.
• Additional Information: No reasons for time off (RTO) approved within the first two weeks of assignment; medical or religious exemption requests for flu vaccination are allowed with completed exemption form submitted.
