For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:The Accounting Consultant, Optum Whole Health Solutions, is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting within Health Solutions. The role will be heavily partnered with team members, leadership, and other functional partners throughout the organizationThis role manages key accounting functions, including monthly close processes, revenue recognition, software management, and SG&A managementDevelop, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practicesDevelop and maintain internal control structure and procedures for financial reportingResolve high level financial reporting issuesAssists in the monthly review of financial resultsMonthly analysis of P&L with variance commentaryDevelop and process journal entries; revenue/expense accruals and activityPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliationsAssist in development and documentation of processing efficienciesSupport various projects as neededYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field3+ years of relevant and progressive financial analysis and solid analytic experienceExperience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlinesSolid level of working knowledge of GAAP; ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and management to drive sound business decisionsProficiency with Microsoft ExcelProven excellent written and oral communication skills; solid executive presencePreferred Qualification:Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft experience*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
