Closing Date: Continuous A vacancy exists in the Department of Aging's Caregiver Support Program for a Caregiver Education Specialist. Pay Schedule I, Grade 25, Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week. This is a grant-funded position.
Program Overview
The Baltimore County Department of Aging (BCDA) offers a free Caregiver Support Program to help family members caring for county adults over age 60 or grandparents (age 55+) providing primary care for children. Services include respite care, e-learning platforms, and specialized consultations. This job announcement may close at any time with little or no notice. Applicants are advised to apply promptly. Qualifications Required Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in gerontology, recreation, education, health, business administration, public administration, marketing, public relations, nursing specialty, accounting, or a social or behavioral science. Experience providing services to older adults may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of 4 years, for the required education. Preferred Qualifications
Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a Noncommercial, Class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE

- Provides support and oversight to trainings
- Writes educational newsletter articles, blogs, and social media posts on caregiving topics
- Co-facilitates Caregiver Resource Sessions and Caregiver Network seminars at various in-person locations and virtually
- Provides oversight to the Trualta webpage for caregiver training and authorizes access for participating caregivers
- Assists in the development and implementation of the two annual BCDA Family Caregivers Conferences
- Tracks participation data for educational events and accurately enters data into the Wellsky database
- Provides backup assistance for telephone consultations and intakes for the Caregiver Support Program
- Participates in special projects and new initiatives
