Position Summary The Registered Nurse – Night (RN Triage Runner) provides after-hours in-person clinical visits to patients across various settings between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. Responsibilities include patient assessment, symptom management, treatment, emotional support, and coordination of care. The RN utilizes clinical expertise and communication skills to provide end-of-life care consistent with established plans of care and industry standards. Essential Functions Perform timely patient assessments to ensure effective symptom management. Administer treatments and interventions per the plan of care and provider orders. Educate patients and caregivers about disease progression and end-of-life expectations. Provide emotional support during patient and family interactions. Collaborate with care teams to adjust plans of care as needed. Communicate visit statuses and significant updates to supervisors and team members. Coordinate urgent medication and supply needs per policy. Document all interactions and visits in the electronic medical record system in a timely and accurate manner. Participate in professional development activities and agency programs. Maintain compliance with ethical nursing standards and all applicable regulations. Attend staff meetings and contribute to quality assurance efforts. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge and Critical Skills Principles and practices of nursing Effective verbal and written communication Critical thinking and multitasking Working within a multidisciplinary team Competence in patient education and support Experience Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an acute care setting Experience in oncology, home health, or hospice preferred License / Certification Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida Current CPR certification Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation Education Diploma in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Other Requirements Medical clearance for communicable diseases before patient contact Current immunizations including TB, Hepatitis, and Flu Participation in continuing education programs and internal training Compliance with Nurse Practice Act and ethical standards of nursing practice The knowledge, skills and abilities listed above are typically acquired through the levels of education and experience listed.
